The 12.40 Beginners Steeplechase at Thurles is a competitive beginners race and whilst Popcorn is a likeable horse, I'm siding with Rathlin. Only a new Mouse Morris housemate and despite his disappointing previous run he has the form in the book to win this following his brilliant sixth in the supreme novices at the festival last year and realistically he was always going to be a better chaser. evens is a massive price in the grand scheme of things with the brilliant Davy Russell on board!

Next Best Bet of the day

The 13.10 Handicap Chase at Thurles is an open race but I really like the look of Andreas Answer here!. John Fogarty is a trainer limited by his resources but he knows exactly how to ready a horse. You could make a case for any one of these horses, but I just think our selection is open to improvement and this is a race that will not take too much to win and showing the right attitude and a liking for conditions he should get home here. 11/2 is a fantastic price for him with the brilliant Tom Doyle on board.

In the 15.15 Conditional Handicap at Thurles I will take a tentative each way chance with Nova Serra here! A typical Irish handicap in that any of these horses could win this but I just feel our selection from the Daniel Murphy yard has a great chance as he always runs his race over timber and should at least run into a place ! Adrian Heskin is an exciting prospect and always has been , and his booking is significant and odds of 10/1 really do seem generous.
