Spotlight Race: December Gold Cup 14.30 Cheltenham

This is a cracking renewl of this race and all eyes will be on Tony McCoy and his brave decision to choose Sunnyhill Boy but I really like the chances of  Divers here. The phrase "horses for courses" jumps to mind here as Divers adores this track havng ran so well last time out in the Paddy Power Chase and winning here at the festival! He should at least place .He will be one doing his best work late, a vital characteristic for the daunting Cheltenham hill! Keith Mercer takes the ride for the shrewd  Ferdy Murphy yard!

Nap Of The Day

The 13.15 Novice Hurdle at Navan is going to be a tough race and many in this race are winners but I just feel the John Kiely runner Reizovic will have the measure of them all. Todays ground will suit a lot more and if he manages to stay , which he is fancied to do, he could take some catching! Another Positive is that John Kiely is a man on form and the horse will be bang on for this. Available at a nice 4/1 with Paddy Power for the exciting Mark Walsh..

Next Best Bet Of The Day:

The 15.20 Handicap Chase at Doncaster is going to be a tough race and Benny Be Good will have his followers for the inform James Revely but a horse who will finally get his ideal trip is  Tullamore Dew. He travelled supremely well in the Hennessy Gold Cup last time out but the extra furlongs really caught him out and this trip should be his optimum which really should make him first cross the line first on old form.  Available at a nice 5/1 with Paddy Power for the likeable Nigel Glifford and DermoTipping Favourite Liam Treadwell.

The 13.20 Handicap at Cheltenham is a nice open looking race but I like the each way chances of Rileyev.  . A winner last time out for the blog he is a horse progessing nicely and shows a key attribute for cheltenham - finished your races with aplomb! He is up in the weights and it will take improvemnt to land this but I cannot see why he cant improve on this more suitable stiffer track. Top jockey Aidan Coleman takes the ride and odds of 8/1 are luring for Venetia Williams.
