18.05 Handicap Chase Downpatrick Nap of the day

Typically sticky looking irish handicap but a definite contender here after an excellent summer is the extremely likeable Old Supporter - and should be hard to beat.

He won very well at Wexford and was unlucky at Killarney - I'm on board here and napping him because he is a much more solid alternative than Pat Garrett. The latter has found himself in a horrible trend of falling and it wont be easy returning from his last fall here..

Our selection ran well here in the past and will not be far away today - at 6/1 he is well worth an each way punt at least..

He will be with the capable hands of Brian Hayes and will not be far away

20.20 Apprentice Handicap Dundalk (Next Best)

Dundalk can be an unforgiving place and I tend to avoid horses who do not have definite form here and one horse who may just pop up and with definite course form is Hes Our Music..

This horse won here last December well and should not be far away today - having not ran a bad race in a long time and being steered by a brilliant claimer to boot in Colin Keane.

He hails from very able connections and a gamble may be on the cards.

All these horses are obviously to a similar level but our selection should not be far away and 12/1 is a big price.

15.55 Downpatrick Handicap Hurdle (E/W of the Day)

A tough race to dissect and possibly not a particularly strong race - so it may side to pay with a potential improver in Alubari..

This race is next to impossible to give a confident vote in - but our selection is a tough horse more known for all weather exploits but after a good fourth behind Formal Bid (won again since at Perth on Wednesday) should be close come the finish.

This is not a race to jump in enthusiasm for any runner but it may just side to opt for a potential improver and Alubari may just be this.

He hails from the extremely under rated Ado McGuinness yard and if the money comes - don't miss out!.
