14.30 Paddy Power Chase - Big Race Of The Day
 

What a race in prospect with so many brilliant performances in the past - this race is the first real sign the National hunt is back.

Everybody will have a fancy for this race and they should - no horse in this race is without some form of a chance. However I have narrowed the field down to two runners who I feel may pop up at likely odds.

Nadiya De La Vega: A horse who has shown tremendous promise when winning here and at Fairyhouse in the past. Has the decent Andrew Tinkler on board, likes the track and goes well fresh. Well worth an each way punt.

 




Gift Of Dgab: Another who has maybe not fulfilled early promise - but very interesting that he has been brought to Cheltenham for this race considering his poor run last time out. Has to prove he can stay on good ground but if he does he is classy enough to land a handicap and maybe this handicap could be well up his street. Stable continuing good form from last season with a strong winner yesterday and have booked the future champion jockey Bryan Cooper for the spin.

13.05 Novice Handicap Uttoxeter Nap of the day

Venetia Williams is flying at the moment as is Dermo tipping favourite Liam Treadwell and with her placing horses to win very well on a Saturday, Renard D'Irlande has good chances over fences and will take some beating here.

He has the best experience of these over the bigger obstacles and this is a nice chance to return in - especially with the yard banging in the winners

He will have no issues with ground having been placed in a hot cheltenham handicap last year and if ready first time out (Yard very able to get them ready first out) should take all the beating.

Liam Treadwell has had a great week and may have another brilliant day at Uttoxeter - given he has had 40/1, 5/1 and 13/2 winners.
