Nap Of The Day

The 16.25 Handicap Hurdle at Gowran Park
is a nice looking affair and a potential improver from her last run is Cloughmile.

She was been in ferocious form before Christmas over the bigger obstacles and it looks a shrewd move that connections hould run here over hurdles today - given her 10lb lower mark over these. She has the form on these and by removing the odd jumping mistake should be well treated for this

Michael Hourigan is a shrewd trainer and will have had this race in mind. He has booked an extremely promising jockey in Adrian Heskin and may take advantage of the also smart Up for the match.

Opening Price should be taken.

Pic: Cloughmile Could win here For Michael Hourigan!

Next Best Bet Of The Day:

The 15.20 Grand National Trial Chase at Haydock
is a nice looking spectactle - one which will inform us an awful lot regarding Aintree -  but a horse who is well treated is Some Target .

The horse seemed to regress last time out , but is upped in trip which will suit and on old form - such as his win at Punchestown in 2010 -  he is very well treated for this and should definitely be there or thereabouts. He will appreciate the sharp track and Willie Mullins has not brought him over the Irish Sea to play a minor role in proceedings.

Willie Mullins appears to be going from strength to strength and should be bang on here. The underrated David Casey takes the ride which is only a positive.

Available at a nice 7/1 in Paddy Power.

Pic: Some Target Could Go Close here for Willie Mullins!

Each Way Selection Of The Day:

The 14.25 Chase at Ascot
is an interesting looking race where Pearlysteps and The Minack will have their followers, but a horse who could surprise is Tullamore Dew .

He actually ran a better race than what was suggested after The Hennessy -He was  travelling Strongly two out but just did not get home - so the reduction in two furlongs will be no negative at all and he should improve for this.

Connections have waited for this race and put up Grand National winning jockey Liam Treadwell - A big run may be imminent, at least for a place.

Available at a nice 12/1 with Paddy Power.

Pic: If the tullamore dew of old can show up, he has a squeek.
