Punchestown Day 2

Another good day yesterday with two horses winning at decent prices and with a full card today more will be expected! Massive respect has to go out to the Punchestown racing staff - how any racing went on that ground is beyond me!

 Nap Of The Day

Rubi Light jumps like a stag and loves the ground

The 17.30 Gold Cup at Punchestown is a lively looking contest ,but a horse who may just get ideal conditions today is the likeable Rubi Light .

The horse has simply been brilliant for connections in 2011/2012 - winning twice and finishing second behind Gold Cup winning Synchronsied - whilst he was all at sea with the dry conditions at Cheltenham, todays heavy ground will suit him. He is joint top rated here and with no weight concessions its hard to see him not being involved.

Andrew Lynch takes the ride which is only a positive - as in my eyes he has been Ireland's best jockey this year! Follow The Plan also has to be taken at that price.

Odds of 3/1 Seem nice

Next Best Bet Of The Day:

Up for the Match may win again today!
The 17.40 Handicap hurdle is a tough looking handicap, but a horse on an upward streak and who may just be good enough is Up for The Match.

John Kiely is a trainer set for massive things in Ireland - but this horse deserves a name for himself ,having won stylishly twice at a lower level and the second in his last run (shamiran) winning very well last time out in Punchestown on Wednesday, he looks bang on for this off a low weight.
John Kiely has booked the underestimated Alan Crowe to ride and he should be close!

 Odds of 3/1 are generous

Each Way Bet Of The Day:

Ut de Sivola could win another for ruby and Mullins.
Ut De sivola in the 16.30 Juvenile hurdle at Punchestown loves this ground and being a classy sort and from a brilliant stable has a squeak here!

He won brilliantly at Fairyhouse and despite being pulled up on unsuitable ground at cheltenham he can reverse placings with a few of these. His fantastic win on heavy over hisabaat springs to mind as a good guide to todays race!

willie Mullins has enjoyed his usual platter of winners at Punchestown and can get another, with the brilliant ruby walsh in the saddle.

Odds of 6/1 are generous
