Tom foley could be celebrating another win

A real nice contest here with the 2012 Irish grand national winner on show, but I just feel with conditions to suit Playing will be hard to catch here.

He has had a simply fantastic season thus far and won two nice vents quickly in succesion in decisive fashion. Simply put he did not enjoy his running in the Theystes last time out and maybe it was just too much too soon and he could not land a blow - today should be much more to his liking in this smaller field.

His form is strong but he does come up against a strong field and although Competetive Edge will have his supporters - I feel todays trip may just be too far for the likeable sort. Shrapnel will not enjoy conditions and I don't fancy Rivage Dor despite Cooper opting for him of the Gigginstown pairing.
 
Tom Foley has had his star horse in flying form all year and today should be no different.

Treadwell could be celebrating

Liam Treadwell had his greatest moment in a grand national when winning the big one for Venetia Williams with Mon Mome on that famous day and he may supply the same trainer with a win in another national - with Emperors Choice likely to run a big race in conditons to suit. catch here.

The horse seems to come alive around this time of year - having won 3 times on the bounce last February (has placed and won every February and March he has ran) and today he could bounce to form also. Last year he won the Surrey national well from the decent Big Occasion and today could be a follow up.

He loves conditions having won on soft and heavy and if the horse is in the mood and the form he will give the other principles a lot to think about.

Obviously in a big field race like this the challengers come ten fold and one who looks a strong contender is the mud loving Mountanous.
 
Liam Treadwell is having the best season he has ever had and today could well be another big Saturday for him and the red hot Venetia Williams.
