15.05  Tote Super Trifecta Handicap Hurdle

(Nap)

A nice card today in Ireland but we are all awaiting tomorrow - what a day Sunday will be on these shores for horse racing followers.

Such a trappy handicap here with the favourite of particularly strong interest - but a horse who has shown genuine promise and has been given a very fair mark is The Parishioner.

John Kiely is adept at getting a horse ready for a handicap, and this horse looks a prime candidate. He has shown nice promise in bumpers and ran a very nice race last time out in a maiden hurdle and a mark of 106 might be low enough for him to make an impact first time out in a hurdle.

It appears to be another case of a horse ran until "he gets a mark" and JP McManus and Co taking advantage!

The favourite Luddsdenene is a strong performer and won going away easily at Thurles - but a hike of 11 pounds is not easy to contend with especially on this ground.

John Kiely is a shrewd man so if the money starts to come - get on early!

3 pts win The Parishioner 10/3

14:55 Handicap Steeplechase

 (NB)

Bryan Cooper is on a high of late obviously and one person he owes a lot to naturally is his Father who gave him his earliest opportunites - and Bryan can repay the favour by getting The Shepherd King home in this trappy handicap

He is returning to a distance much more likely to suit than last time and conditions will not faze him whatsoever. He has goos form with one time Triumph Hurdle favourite Minsk and has competed versus the likes of Pittoni and Zaidpour so if he regans some confidence this race is not beyond him.

He loves conditions having won on Yielding and placed on heavy and if the horse is in the mood and the form he will give the other principles a lot to think about.

Liam Treadwell is having the best season he has ever had and today could well be another big Saturday for him and the red hot Venetia Williams.
