14.35   Handicap Hurdle Fairyhouse

(Nap)

Today could be another big day for Sullane Chief
A real  typical Irish Handicap with many in here with a chance, but one who may just bounce back to form and who is still on a workable mark is Sullane Chief.

He shot up the handicaps and won his two races well, winning at Cork and cosily at Punchestown over todays distance. He won on soft ground well on the latter occasion and today's going of soft to heavy bodes well and this trip does too.

I would forgive his run last time in the Boyle Sports hurdle as it may have just come too quick, with a big classy field over a trip that just did not suit. He has won his two races over 2 mile 4 furlongs and that 2 miles was maybe just too tight, and the horses that beat him that day may have simply been better rated horses.

Davy Russell is a very positive booking also as Sullane Chief has been ridden mostly by claimers - Davy is up today and the horse will well and truly have his mind made up.

Connections are very shrewd and this horse is good enough to win this handicap especially after how fancied he was for the Boyle Sports.

3 pts win Sullane Chief 6/1

16:10 Handicap Chase Chepstow

 (NB)

Liam Treadwell has a good chance of another win

Liam Treadwell is having the season of his life and he is especially flourishing on Saturdays - and despite this being a very open race, I feel Sablazo has ran very well under this mark on his last run and has a big chance reunited with Liam Treadwell.

He is definitely not the easiest to win with and has thrown the rattle out on a few occasions, but he bounced back to form nicely last time and was unlucky when staying on behind today's rival Brandon Thomas - to whom he gets a 6 pound pull with today.

He likes conditions having won on heavy and it is a big positive he is reunited with Liam Treadwell - the jockey on board for his last win.

He has ran well on today conditions before and the trip and ground hold no fears.
Liam Treadwell is officially having the best season he has ever had and today could well be another big Saturday for him.

  • 2 pts win Sablazo 5/1

15.10 Bobbyjo Chase Fairyhouse

 (Each Way Of The Day)

  • 1pts e/w Quito De La Roque 12/1
