Nap of the Day:

Galway day one got off to a flyer thank god and lets just hope we can land one or two more. My main tip today comes in the 18.45 Handicap in Galway. This is an open looking affair but I just fancy the prolific SEPARATE WAYS to win. He is a horse who knows how to win but more importantly knows how to win here in Galway and over this distance! Trainer David Marnane is a man in fantastic form and with Sam James in the saddle should at least run his race! 12/1 is a massive price.

Next Best Bet of the day

STUNNING VIEW in the 18.45 Handicap could well cap off a day to remember for the King of Ballybrit Dermot Weld. This horse has been primed for this race and has ran at a higher level this year (The Royal hunt Cup in Ascot) and to Hear Pat Smullen mention him as one of his best hopes is noteworthy also. His morning price of 9/1 is massive considering he is still unexposed at Handicap level. A treble could well be worth a punt today with Stunning view in this, Catch the eye in the 20.25 and Mahaazen in the 19.15 returning €198 of a €5.

E/W Bet of the day!!

.The 17.35 Chase is an interesting renewal and Prince Erik will be popular given his connections but I fancy THE LAST DERBY to pop up an win this for Eoin Griffin and the legendary Barry Geraghty (left). Putting a line through his last run where something seemed amiss he has ran quite well over this distance all year, chasing home the classy Mossey Joe and before this finishing 5th in the Irish Grand National, so the long distance shouldn't be a problem. Odds of 7/1 are very tempting. The Jockey Booking is very interesting as Eddie O Connell has partnered this horse thus far, He obviously fancies him today if he is willing to pay for the services of the outstanding Barry Geraghty!
