 Nap Of The Day

Saint gervais should pick up more money today

Yesterday brought in a massive turn of form, with three nice priced winners and here is hoping that this will continue, I do believe though that Saint Gervais in  the 18.20 Handicap Hurdle at Cork is a step ahead of the handicapper - and the opposition here today.

There can be doubt that he was entitled to win and win well in that company last time - but the way he travelled and jumped suggested to me that the Kielys will have some fun with him throughout the summer, especially off this mark of 116. He will travel like nothing else and I think over this 2 mile race at Cork he will find his optimum trip.

John Kiely does tremendously well with what he has and is on a quick rise to the top in Ireland, and will have Saint Gervais ready. Andrew McNamara takes the ride which is only a positive.

Odds of 9/2 are generous..

Next Best Bet Of The Day:

Mirza should be good enough today also

The 15.15 Handicap at Pontefract is a lively looking contest ,but a horse who may just follow up an impressive win is Mirza .

He was well backed last friday when slamming his opposition over 5 furlongs and with the extended furlong and improving underfoot conditions in his favour he looks a strong chance. really he only goes up 3lb for that win too which is an obvious bonus.

William Carson is shaping up to be a top jockey and more interesting is the fact that this is rae guests only runner of the day - they are clearly trying to strike while the iron is hot!

4/1 should be taken

Each Way Bet Of The Day:

Cnoc seoda (black and white) may not have to settle for second

The 18.50 Novice Handicap at Cork is a nice  looking contest with a few talented sort, but a horse who may be on the upward curve is Cnoc Seoda .

Overall his form looks very good, and won brilliantly last time out at this venue. He appears to thrive over the extended distance and was only put up 3lbs for his last win - he may not be done yet..

Declan Queally takes the ride for his father - and both are as good as anyone!

11/1 should be taken
